When to gamify and when not to
Avoid 'adding points for the sake of it' when it doesn't fit.
Gamification is no cure-all. It shines when the goal is to BOOST ENGAGEMENT, repeated practice, retention, or habit-building. It backfires when content is already stressful/sensitive, when learners are experts needing depth, or when mechanics distract from the real goal.
Key takeaway: Gamify to boost engagement/practice/habits; be careful with sensitive content or when mechanics eclipse the goal.
