Three sentences and what they do

| 'If this works, who has to do more?' | Surfaces the parts of the organisation the solution has not accounted for |
| 'Have we tried this before, and what happened?' | Exposes the loop — if we tried it and the problem returned, we are treating a symptom |
| 'How long before we know this works, and what do we watch in the meantime?' | Forces the delay into the open and gets an early indicator agreed |
Do not let systems thinking become a reason to do nothing
'This is complicated, we need to look at the whole picture' turns into a delaying tactic very easily. Systems thinking earns its place when it produces a specific intervention at the right tier — not when it produces a handsome diagram and no action.
