Four notes on the structure
- THE FIRST TEN MINUTES DECIDE THE SESSION: if learners have nothing to do in the first 10 minutes, they'll open other work and you won't get them back.
- A BREAK MEANS A REAL BREAK: say explicitly 'screens off, stand up for 5 minutes' — a break spent at the machine doesn't restore attention.
- END EACH BLOCK WITH PRACTICE, not with a long presentation. People remember what they did, not what they heard.
- THE LAST TEN MINUTES ARE FOR COMMITMENT: each person writes one thing they'll apply and when. Without this, the application rate is close to zero.
Key takeaway: 90 minutes: 10-minute open, two 30–35 minute blocks with a break between, and 10 minutes for personal commitments.
