Seven things beyond base pay
Widen the table once base pay hits its ceiling.
Base pay is usually the hardest element, because it is bounded by the internal salary structure and sets a precedent for equivalent roles. When a recruiter says 'that is the ceiling', they are usually telling the truth — about base pay.
The other six typically have more room, and are easier for a recruiter to get approved precisely because they set no salary precedent.
A six-month review is the easiest request to say yes to
It costs nothing this year, sets no salary precedent, and gives the company a chance to assess you first. Attach specific conditions: 'if I deliver X and Y, review at month six'.
